Residential addition + interiors
An ongoing residential addition and furnishing project at the founder’s home in the foothills of Boulder. The project brings together warm wood, stone, soft texture and a collected mix of furnishings to create a quiet retreat with a strong sense of place.
Current focus: shaping the main living spaces and library with a layered, architectural palette.

The approach is selective rather than formulaic: fewer pieces, better choices, and a mix of new, vintage, polished and imperfect.

Sketching, photographing and collecting references are part of the studio process, a way of studying proportion, material and the details that give a space its character.

Studio Alice Louise is a Boulder, Colorado residential interiors studio founded by Alice Louise.
The studio is rooted in an appreciation for distinctive pieces, natural materials and interiors that evolve over time. Rather than designing around a prescribed look, the approach begins with proportion, material and the individual pieces that give a room its character.
